Gwen Luster

Gwen Luster, DVM, is an emergency veterinarian at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews who will be starting in November 2023.

Originally, Dr. Gwen is from Pittsburgh, PA and is excited to move from Steelers nation to Carolina Panther territory. In her free time, she enjoys working out, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends. She has a dog, Dixie, and recently added a new kitten to the crew named River.

Professional Accomplishments

Dr. Gwen completed her DVM at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. She gained experience in many areas of the country during her 4th year rotations, seeing a wide range of emergent cases and disease processes that vary by location and medical resources available. She also completed a two month emergency externship at University of Georgia. Upon graduation, she decided to start her veterinary career in a rural area in Virginia practicing mixed animal medicine while treating everything ranging from routine care to emergent cases and surgeries. Through this she realized her passion for emergency medicine and came to join Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC.
